about Sketch Trips

Sketch Trips

Hi, my name Sam and in 2006 I started facilitating for tutors, arranging courses in a couple of luxury chalets in the stunning Aravis Mountains in France. As I had anticipated the towering mountains, crystal-clear lakes and flower filled fields, provided an abundance of inspiration for both tutors and students. It was no great surprise that the stunning 'Plein air' sketching/painting locations coupled with delicious home cooked food and great hospitality, proved incredibly popular with both tutors and students and within a few years, I had requests to organise similar courses in England.

So in 2010, I organised a couple of residential courses in The Lake District for two of our most popular tutors. This was soon followed by more equally successful courses in Cornwall and North Wales and in 2015 we extended our tutors courses to the amazing city of Barcelona.

In a nutshell, my company Sketch Trips offers artists and tutors the chance to expand their businesses through organised workshops, non-residential and residential short or week long courses in inspiring locations. Sketch Trips is unique in offering a business to business service, organising accommodation, catering, transport, marketing and administration so that artists/tutors can concentrate on delivering high standard courses to students with a wide range of abilities, without having to worry about the day to day planning and logistics.

Apart from a very personal service, what makes Sketch Trips so special?

Hospitality - As your host I am with you and your students 24/7.
Accommodation - I hand pick 4 or 5 star accommodation, so artists/tutors and students can spend quality time in a comfortable surroundings.
Catering - My chefs provide home cooked food with an accent on regional specialities.
